The Jobs Plus Program is a place-based grant program that offers residents assistance with obtaining living wage jobs. MHA’s Jobs Plus Program (STEPS) is exclusively for residents of our Burg Jones Plaza community.
The Monroe Housing Authority, through partnership with Workforce Development Board of Ouachita Parish, NOVA Workforce Institute of Northeast Louisiana, Inc., Louisiana Delta Community College, and the Burg Jones Lane Resident Association, developed innovative, job-driven approaches to increase earnings and advance employment opportunities through job placement in progressive track careers that pay living wages.
In order to support our residents as they achieve these steps toward economic self-sufficiency, we will provide them with opportunities for educational advancement, work readiness programs, employer linkages, technology skills training and financial incentives.
